Stainless steel mezzanines are highly resistant to moisture and most chemicals. In addition stainless steel is a FDA approved surface. The latter being the largest benefit. They are generally designed for easy wash down and are commonly put in food, or other FDA regulated, processing plants.
Drawbacks of a Stainless Steel Mezzanine:
Money; stainless steel mezzanines are very expensive. Stainless steel mezzanines are commonly restricted to smaller column spans, generally 10' - 20' max. Structural stainless mezzanines are even more expensive.
